No floppy disk drive, what to do then?

Hello. On my laptop, there is no floppy disk drive. If I want to have one, it has to be external, so its a 100$ fee. And since floppy are kinda old and limited (space, speed) I decided to put that fee on buying a 128mb memory stick, which is faster, more space and since I have 3 USB ports, that's not a problem!
I often read that you need to use a boot floppy for this or this, but since I cannot use floppys, what can I do?
Once I try to use my memory stick, that erased all the data, resized it to a 1,44mo and to a max of 22mo! So I had to format it to get back my 128mo!!
So is there a way to make boot disk using the memory stick? Since I am going to install slack, I see there that you have to choose a boot disk.
Thx,
Max

You donīt need to make a boot disk. You just put your slackware cd in and boot from that (you might need to change your bios to boot from the cd before the hard drive)

Later if you ever have problems you can use your slack cd as a rescue/boot disk.
