9.1 Install Problems

Hi,

I can mount the NFS share fine using the Slackware boot disks - and et as far as choosing which packages to install (I always select full install)..

The installer then goes straight to the Installation Complete press Ctrl - Atl - Delete to reboot...

I have copied the entire contents of CD 1 to my NFS share (/slack) ans when I am asked for the NFS share I enter /slack.

Anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks
J

I've never attempted an NFS install before,
but I would guess that you'll have to set-up
some kind of permissions on the server?

Cheers,
Tink

Hi - Since my post yesterday I have also now tried copying the CD1 iso over to a FAT16 drive on the same laptop - mounting it as /install and installing from there but I am still having the same problem..

I guess that the issue is not down to the NFS server.... I even downloaded a new ISO to ensure that there was no corrpution... Also - I have this successfully installed on my desktop..

Does anyone have any ideas as I would really like Slackware on my Laptop...

Thanks
J
