NFS Problems

I have configured NFS between two linux machines and the links work fine. I have to put the client machine behind a router and when I do that I am able to mount the NFS directories but when I try a simple command like "ls" the system hangs. I am not sure what ports I have to enable (It is a Linksys Router), right now I have ports 111,2049, 970:980, 32765:32769, 32823:32855 open on the router but still doesnt work. The output of the
"rpcinfo -p server" is as follows:
program vers proto port
100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper
100000 2 udp 111 portmapper
100024 1 udp 32768 status
100024 1 tcp 32768 status
391002 2 tcp 32769 sgi_fam
100011 1 udp 604 rquotad
100011 2 udp 604 rquotad
100011 1 tcp 607 rquotad
100011 2 tcp 607 rquotad
100005 1 udp 32865 mountd
100005 1 tcp 32931 mountd
100005 2 udp 32865 mountd
100005 2 tcp 32931 mountd
100005 3 udp 32865 mountd
100005 3 tcp 32931 mountd
100003 2 udp 2049 nfs
100003 3 udp 2049 nfs
100021 1 udp 32866 nlockmgr
100021 3 udp 32866 nlockmgr
100021 4 udp 32866 nlockmgr
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

Hi thanks for the replies....regarding the first question...I do not have any problems running "ls" or any other command with non-NFS directories...and I am not sure what you mean by a link problem could you elaborate please (if its a physical hardware link you are talking about then I do not have any link problems)
thanks.

@cdeverapalli

Try this,

Please check with directories that u r exporting(on NFS server) on right place or not. That's they exist and at right place as same as entry made in /etc/export.
