New kernel...

I needed to get a new kernel since my Nvidia driver install script wouldn't work with the default kernel for 9.0. So I did that, everything ran nicely, I reboot, the display with logo at boot is gone (no surprise there). But then, non of my modules loaded. lsmod reveiled nothing, so once agian I had, no sound (EMU10k1 which I added), no lan (BCM4400 which was there before), no mouse! (wouldn't locate my BUS mouse).

So I was pretty screwed and can't use my gf4 ti4200 now because of the stupid kernel issue.

I need help

i doubt that the nvidia driver wouldn't work at all for you. no reason it shouldn't be fine.

This is not a stupid kernel issue. This is a "Read The Fine Manual" issue. Somewhere during the config or compilation of the kernel you missed something. Either supply us with more details or do some reading up.

bah, forget it... I reinstalled slack and first thing I did was add a new kernel, it works now, except for USB mouse again, but I will fix it.
