Networking Slack to Windows XP

Ok i just wanted to start off saying i havnt been on here in the longest time! I like the new lay out looks good!!!

Ok now i have a slack box current hooked up to a wireless router with a windows xp box down stairs using the wireless card. My question is it possible to use desktop helper thing from the slack box to the windows box? meaning can i "help" them downstairs from my computer? like controll the desktop? also i tried setting this up but windows doesnt like it sharing from the slack to the windows? Like when i try to get a file from the windows box i can only see the name of the computer it wont let me see the tree?

I hope this makes sense?????

Matt

Hi,

I have the same sort of set up, I use rdesktop from linuxpackages.net . This emulates the windows remote desktop, rather than the 'helper' you wanted, you also have to set up the XP machine to allow incoming connections.

Good luck,

Andy

desktop helper thing
no idea what is that.

but for rdesktop which is really great tool, you have to run "Terminal Services" on your Windows.
