Network Confguration Tool
Hi there,
I had RH9 on my Presario3000 laptop and I have just recently transfered to Slack10 with Dropline2.6 desktop. I have a fast internet connection at home and it is working with dhcp setup. I would like to setup another connection at work (ethernet with static IP) but when I tried to do it using the Network COnfiguration Tool I got the following:
The plataform you are running is not supported by this tool!
If you know for sure that it works like one of the plataforms listed below, you can select that and continue. Note, however, that this might demage the system configuration or downright cripple your computer.
The options are different versions of RH, Debian, Connectiva, and other distributions. My questions are:
1- Can I not use the configuration tool or can I choose one of the other distributions?
2- If I can not use the tool, where do I find info on how do to it manually?
I am sorry if this is a silly question but I am new to Linux and even more to Slackware. Any help will be imensely appreciated.
Thanks,
SlackNB
