network and dhclient probs

hi everybody

i just switched from mandrake to slackware 9.1....so please be patient : )

my problem is about configuring my network, my situation is as described:

2 nics, one connected to a cable modem (should obtain the ip via dhclient) the other to the local network (statically assigned).

i set the values in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf accordingly and change the /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 to use dhclient instead of dhcpcd, which is used by default.

i edit the /etc/modules.conf with
alias eth0 ne2k-pci
alias eth0 8390
alias eth1 tulip

without having forgotten to load the modules in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules

now, when i start /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1

dhclient starts but reports an error that "eth0: not found" and then it configures eth1 with the ip i assigned in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf....??

i really don't have any idea, but hopefully one of you guys out there have !

thx in advance
