mounting nfs hangs

I am trying to mount some nfs export, like this

mount 192.168.1.9:/export /mnt/nfs

and it hangs. It won't even stop with ctrl-c. So I have to kill -9 it from another term, and then, after a minute or so, it ends. I don't understand why . I haven't had problems with nfs until now. By the way, in case somebody wonders:

/etc/exports
Code:
# See exports(5) for a description.
# This file contains a list of all directories exported to other computers.
# It is used by rpc.nfsd and rpc.mountd.
/export	192.168.1.4(sync,rw)
. And the firewall is disabled.

Is this a typo? You try to mount: 192.168.1.9
but exports says: /export 192.168.1.4(sync,rw)

Yes, that was a typo. What concerns me now is that while this hangs on slackware 10.2, on 11 it works very well. Am I missing anything?
