Looks like your installer didn't install any packages. I guess something went wrong with the tagfiles.

I suggest you try a full installation. If you want to opt for the Xfce version, simply leave out the KDE and KDEI groups. Then, once the base system is installed, procede with the MLED documentation and use the trim_desktop_xfce.sh script in the desktop-xfce-14.1-$ARCH/tools subdirectory. This script will remove unneded packages and install needed packages.

Cheers,

Niki

I just added a README.txt file with a summary of the various repositories:

Code:
Microlinux Enterprise Desktop & Server
--------------------------------------

Welcome to the Microlinux Enterprise Desktop (MLED) and Server (MLES). These
projects provide extra software for Slackware Linux through a series of five
different sets of repositories:

  1. desktop-base: desktop-agnostic extra software for Slackware. These
packages are common to the KDE-based MLED standard edition as well as the
  Xfce-based MLED-lite edition. If you're using a different desktop
environment like MATE (from the MATE SlackBuilds project), Enlightenment,
Openbox, Fluxbox or WindowMaker, you can still use this repository. It
contains a wide selection of multimedia libraries, plugins and codecs,
fonts, translation files and popular applications like LibreOffice,
Transmission, Inkscape, Scribus, Audacity, Openshot, an enhanced version of
  MPlayer and more.

  2. desktop-kde: KDE-specific extra software for Slackware. Use this
repository for the KDE-based MLED standard edition. You must have the full
set of packages from desktop-base installed.

  3. desktop-xfce: Xfce-specific extra software for Slackware. This repository
contains packages for the Xfce-based MLED Light edition. Likewise, it
depends on a full installation of the desktop-base repository.

  4. desktop-extra: additional software for MLED, mostly applications for
specific purposes like VirtualBox, Filezilla, Poedit, Easytag, aMule or
Kdenlive. They depend on a full installation of either MLED or MLED Light.

  5. server: extra server software for Slackware, mostly stuff that I'm using
on my production servers, and that I've packaged for convenience: Postfix,
Dovecot, Postgrey, Squid, SquidGuard, Glances, MPD, Icecast, ...

Complete sources, build scripts and documentation are included, and binary
packages are provided for 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.

Check out the MLED project page for detailed information and installation
instructions:

I am completely impressed with this release I only had to build and install like 6 programs for Mixxx then use my build upgrade kdenlive to the many bug fixes kdnlive 0.97 but be careful not all of the 0.97 are stable I have seen lately the 0.96 is stable enough for anything you need.
I really like this.
But here is the reality what a pain to install omg. (On the first install)little tip I cheated I prepped my partition ahead of time created a /root folder and then copied all the instructions on to a file I named MLED-install.txt then I used the usb.img to create a bootable usb. then have the slackware64 on my sda1 drive I just changed the tag files with MLED tag files. did a full install.
then rebooted did a less MLED-install.txt then open another tty and installed step by step.
everything went well but it is a big deal to me to have instructions in front of me.

all said and done wow what a powerful awesome release this is a serious I mean OMG serious system it is pretty much what I do for my slackware system.
big Thank you .
(Second Install)
also I did another install it worked out ok. and rebuilt the slackware usb.img I extracted the initrd then added MLED tag files. and then put my MLED-install.txt right with the readme file. zipped it up then rebuilt the usb.img
this allowed me to do a complete install the same way. then copy the directions to the /root folder. then reboot.

Or try to follow the KISS principle: print out the Installation Guide, so you have it ready when you do your installation, and you won't have to jump through burning loops to access it.

Skype is on my TODO list, since some of my clients need it. It will be added to the extra repo.

Teh. I could have called this whole project "BLFS - Beyond Linux From Slack".

Any guidance on how to isolate Skype from my home folder read access ?

It always bugs me to use an application that likes my firefox profile so much.

Thanks Niki. I have finally finished the full installation with xfce. I am sorry but I still have some doubts. before using the trim_desktop...shall I configure slackpkg first? also, even before configuring slackpkg shall I download de microlinux scripts with #git clone https://github.com/kikinovak/slackware? sorry for my questions.

Simply follow the instructions step by step, in the given order. The one bit that you ignore will come back and bite you.

thanks again. I am almost there! I have followed the instructions step by step and everything was perfect.
the only problem has been at the end of the installation when I tried to run the utility cleanmenu.sh because :

#cd desktop-$DESKTOP-$VERSION-$ARCH/tools/

comes an error message which says "-bash: cd : desktop --- /tools/ : no such file or directory

I hope that this does not mean that after everything having run perfectely well there has been a fatal error...

thanks for your attention and I remark the structions are very clear and run smoothly.

$DESKTOP, $VERSION and $ARCH are variables. You're not supposed to type them in as such. $DESKTOP can be "kde" or "xfce", $VERSION can be "14.0", "14.1" or something similar, and $ARCH is either "32bit" or "64bit".

Note that MLED targets users with a bit of Slackware experience for the installation procedure. If you're totally new to Linux, you might want to study the official Slackware documentation first.

I just translated all MLED-related pages into French:
