Missing kde dev files, where?

I've been trying to compile some of the kde eye candy stuff, however they seem to fail the compiling process.
Then I noticed that on one of the compile errors, it was missing the file kdecoration.h.
This file belongs to the set kdebase-dev or libkde-dev or something similar sounding.

I cannot seem to find those missing files, my system is a complete install and I've searched the directories and package log files which list files installed.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of the package that contains the missing files?

thanks.

Are you trying to compile this stuff from source? If so, you'll need the kdelibs package (which you should already have) and you'll need to use --prefix=/opt when you do the ./configure - slack puts the kde packages in /opt rather than the default /usr or /usr/local, so I think you will have to tell configure where to find the libraries.

If you are trying to compile stuff for kde 3.2 then I think you will need the full 3.2 base packages as well.

Slackware includes the -dev packages into the normal packages. There are a few exceptions, but KDE is not one of them. You can search the MANIFEST.bz2 files on your Slackware CD or Slackware directory if you have it. All files are listed in there, sorted on package.
