"man' doesn't want to work anymore ... why ???

Well after upgrading (doesn't remember which package ) with swaret .. the man command doesn't work :

Code:
root@mx:~# man pkg-config
Error executing formatting or display command.
System command (cd /usr/man && (echo ".ll 11.0i"; echo ".pl 1100i"; /bin/gunzip -c '/usr/man/man1/pkg-config.1.gz'; echo ".\\\""; echo ".pl \n(nlu+10") | /usr/bin/gtbl | /usr/bin/nroff -S -mandoc | /usr/bin/less -is) exited with status 256.
No manual entry for pkg-config
What should I do to get it to work again ?

egag@darkstar:~$ grep pkg-config /var/log/packages/*
/var/log/packages/pkgconfig-0.15.0-i486-1kgconfig: pkg-config is a system for managing library compile/link flags
/var/log/packages/pkgconfig-0.15.0-i486-1kgconfig: page that comes with pkg-config for full documentation.
/var/log/packages/pkgconfig-0.15.0-i486-1:usr/bin/pkg-config
/var/log/packages/pkgconfig-0.15.0-i486-1:usr/man/man1/pkg-config.1.gz

guess you need to ( re-) install /pkgconfig-0.15.0-i486-1

I was talking about the "man" (manual) command ....
when I try to
$man "anything" .. it fails ...
howeever I've found a solution ...

Quote:
You can also open /etc/udev/rules.d/udev.rules and see if you have this line:

code:

KERNEL="tty[p-za-e][0-9a-f]*", NAME="tty/s%n", SYMLINK="%k"

If so, then the "tty/s%n" is wrong; it should be "pty/s%n".

After you edit the file, you can reenable udev:

"chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.udev"

[Somebody might want to check me out on this. I'm a Slack noob and don't want to pretend to know what I'm talking about ...]
that fixes the "man"

10x anyway ...
