@STDOUBT - It looks like you use LVM. I haven't used LVM for quite a while and didn't do any recent experiments using LVM to see what combinations worked or failed.

There may be other combinations of features/configurations that work/don't work. It would be good to know what works or causes problem then fix the problem or document the deficiency and document a workaround. We all want working systems don't we?

EDIT: ... or I could be doing something wrong so it works for everyone else except me.

Yes, sorry. That should have been "generic kernel+initrd+LUKS+LVM"
Your recent threads have me curious about how to achieve full disk encryption without LVM...Using plain-mode on a discrete (storage) disk is pretty straightforward, but integrating that into a bootable system disk is something I have yet to try out!
