Lilo and Grub conflict, installed Slackware but cant run the Helix Live CD

I get the error 23 : Parsing number, everytime I try helix on my Desktop Computer but on my Laptop it runs fine.

I believe that, that's because Slackware boots with Lilo on my Desktop Computer and my laptop which has Ubuntu boots with grub.

An interesting note is that Ubuntu 8.04 live cd runs fine on my Desktop Computer

A live CD will boot the system long before LILO kicks in, so I would doubt that's the problem. You should check your BIOS to make sure booting from CD is enabled and ahead of booting from the hard drive. It could be that the Helix Live CD lacks certain drivers for your desktop, or that certain modules must be loaded before it can boot successfully. You may have to pass options to the kernel to get it to work. You should provide the entire error if possible, and tell us at which stage the error occurs.

I don't know anything about the Helix Live CD, so I can't help you beyond that. You may wish to try passing 'noapic', 'acpi=off', 'nolapic', etc. to the kernel to see if that helps.

I can't show you a photo but I believe that the Helix Live CD uses grub. And from what I got on the desktop it looks like

The Helix Live CD without the background at boot. Instead of a splash image I get black background and orange text box. Then I try anything and it would give me Error 23.
