Right now I'm using Gnome (Dropline), but wanting to make the switch back to KDE.
The one problem I'm having right now is with the KMenu. When I use the shortcut (right-click the KMenu and go to KMenuEdit) nothing happens.
The way I access KMenuEdit is by the command "kmenuedit". When I make changes it's not saving them. It goes through the saving process fine, but when I look at the menu it's still default. The default is all messed up with applications all over the place.
Also, there's no KDE Control Panel, but that can be solved easily if I can edit the menu. Right now I'm just using the "kcontrol" command.
By the way, I'm running Slackware 10.1 at the moment. The only major system change was installing Dropline Gnome 2.10.1.
Not sure what's causing the problem. My only guess is that it could be Dropline, but there's nothing on the Dropline site indicating any bugs, nor on the forums. So my next guess is some system setting is blocking it :S.
Oh well, I think I'm just going to drop both Gnome and KDE. On the weekend I'm going to try and configure Fluxbox. If I can get that to work I'll stick with it.
Blessing in disguise maybe. I've always wanted to try Fluxbox just never had the incentive.
