I tried out the Kde4 on Slackware 12.2-current but I have a big problem with Openoffice3 namely it does not happen anything when I want to open a file. Anyway the OOffice3 freezes very often. The OOffice is 3 and the same which I use on Slackware 12.2 but under Kde 3.5.10 there are no problems. What is the solution therefor?
Have you compiled with slackbuild? Do you use gtk-qt-engine?
No, that is a Hungarian version but as I wrote it works on Kde 3.5.10 under Slackware. How can I use gtk-qt-engine on Kde4? because I also want to use it. I didn't find it anywhere.
Ok, oepnoffice on KDE 4 gives me some problem too(buttons disappear, and it's impossible pushing them, so...), I don't know where the problem could be. I'm sorry. Thought I think there is an incongruence with OOo3 and KDE 4.
About gtk-qt-engine, you can download the SVN version:
Code:
svn co http://gtk-qt.ecs.soton.ac.uk/svn/gtk-qt/trunk/gtk-qt-engine
Have you got KDE 4.2.2? If not, you might have some problems with cmake. Let's know and do not disappear.
No, I have KDE 4.2.1 and I tried to compile the gtk-qt-engine and I had really problems with cmake. What should I do? Has already the Slackware-current the KDE 4.2.2?
It'll give you as output, KDE, QT and Amarok version. Let us know, try to upgrade to KDE 4.2.2 if you already didn't. If you're already on KDE 4.2.2 post the output gtk-qt-engine gives. Let's know.

May be it is my fault but sorry I don't find KDE 4.2.2 on Slackware-current, just KDE 4.2.1 or please give me the right path where I can reach it.
Now all is OK, my OOffice was Hungarian, but now I installed the English version and no problem.
Another question: where is the gtk-qt-engine package for KDE 4? Or the version for KDE 3.5 is usable?
You've to download the source package and compile it by yourself.

I'm really sorry, but I got confused, excuse me again, but I'm confused because I use KDE4.2.2-svn(the 1st April is gonna get out as stable version). Any way...You've to download the source archive, and follow the instructions inside of it(there would be a README or an INSTALL text file). Don't worry 'bout all that I said first about the compilation problems, you won't have. I think your installation is gonna be right, but I've to advise about one thing, the program has some bug which includes the firefox's tabs, the firefox's buttons and the buttons of websites(they will displayed with the KDE color as background(a little square)). Think on.

No, it isn't.
