KDE doesn't support Chinese well

Hi,

I have KDE3.2.3 which comes with slackware 10. I have selected the kdei (or ikde) group of packages during installation. Yet I don't have any other language to choose from other than English.

I downloaded the Simplified and Traditional Chinese packages, both from a slackware package website and KDE's website. After installation and I selected a Chinese package to use, I can see there are some Chinese characters displayed, but not complete. Some Chinese characters are missing, boxes are displayed instead. This happen to both Simplified and Traditional.

I try this issue both on my laptop and my desktop. The same problem. Please advise me where I have done wrong. Thank you very much.

Well I don't know about the fonts, but changing the LANG var would be better. You have to edit /etc/profile.d/lang.csh and /etc/profile.d/lang.sh.
I know there's also a Chinese Language Extention (know as CLE) for Slackware but i don't remember where to get it.

Edit: take a look at this link: http://jmccoy.sdf-us.org/slackware10...onts/fonts.php posted by Chinaman on this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=227140
