I rather use 'lq slackware' and come here through the google result.
FWIW the LQ homepage is the *only* site konqueror hangs here.
Maybe someone would want to figure out why.
That's actually a decent solution so far. I usually have a bookmark straight to myLQ anyway so that's actually not a big deal. I haven't had a hang yet. Time will tell.

LQ appears to be a vBulletin website. vBadvanced provides an add on to create a portal. I have had konqueror freeze 100% of the time visiting vBadvanced based websites. I have never determined why.

Do you have any examples of these sites, just for testing puposes?

peacemakercore.com A gaming community for Battlefield 2
bitsnbytes-llc.com A computer store in Sioux Falls, SD

Both of these sites give me trouble. The Bit's-N-Byte's site worked fine until I installed vBadvanced and the it started to freeze Konqueror the same as Peacemaker Core. I don't know if LQ uses the vBadvanced but I enter straight to the Slackware page so it has never given me any trouble. These are troublesome because I maintain both of them and I have to use Opera instead of Konqueror. I don't mind Opera but I like Konqueror better and I don't like switching back and forth.

I get the same errors when it doesn't crash.
Code:

I haven't had a crash in 24 over 24 hours. I unchecked all the plugins/java/javascript options and then closed konqueror, reopened, reselected the defaults, closed and opened and things are fine. I've even tried some of the pages that caused crashes a few times and so far I'm good. I dunno, it's weird.

Just my 2 cents: Why are we using konqueror? Do you people like it, or do you just not like unpacking firefox? KDE 4.4 is actually pretty good, BTW. I use GNOME because it's easier on my hardware.

I have konqueror, ff chrome and epiphany. I love konqueror as a file manager and it seems to be improving as a browser. One tool for both will be nice.

Just upgraded to 4.4.4 using Alien Bob's packages. Not noticed any differences yet. Anybody who does upgrade, if you use slackpkg, don't forget to add the packages to /etc/slackpkg/blacklist.
Code:
#
# KDE 4.4.4 packages
#
kdeaccessibility
kdeadmin
kdeartwork
kdebase
kdebase-runtime
kdebase-workspace
kdebindings
kdeedu
kdegames
kdegraphics
kdelibs
kdemultimedia
kdenetwork
kdepim
kdepim-runtime
kdepimlibs
kdeplasma-addons
kdesdk
kdetoys
kdeutils
kdewebdev
oxygen-icons

For the konqueror lovers out there, I'm testing kde 4.4.85 (4.5 beta2) and LQ homepage hasn't crashed konqueror yet! The rest of 4.5b2 is alright so far, but it feels beta and has some changes I don't know that I like.

Because Firefox sucks... it's a dog performance-wise and all those extra dialog windows torque me off.

Konqueror in KDE 4.5 is going to feature an option to use Webkit for it's rendering engine, which should (in theory) solve the occasional problems it has rendering web content that is non-standards-compliant or uses heavy scripting.

I'm going to try the upgrade... up until last week I was running Debian Sid, and the upgrade to 4.4.4 made a noticeable difference in performance, especially in Konqueror.

Brian, you said you used Alien Bob's packages to build KDE 4.4.4. I don't see any such thing in his repository... please advise.
