Ok thank you. may try it out and see what it does. not really into auto updating rather than doing a full update, as I have found some things crash on minimal updates.

No, it's definately software related. The connection is solid as a rock using any other distro. Something screwy going on. I've started another thread about the problem.

Hmm well maybe something in your kernel. I have been fiddling with 2.6.11.5 and somehow my kernel says I have Radi 5 installed and I doon't. Go figure!!
