ISO size


Why are the Slackware 14 ISOs so much smaller than the ISOs for other recent releases? I seem to remember someone giving a reason for this.

The sources are no longer part of the ISOs - they moved to a separate ISO file.

Doesn't this effectively make room for programs that were previously too large to include, like Tex Live?

Time will tell what eventually will get added to the distribution, but traditionally Slackware has only included what it absolutely needs for it's main interfaces, applications, and the system as a whole.
