Is there a way to use XOrg instead of Wayland in Slackware 15 64-bit?
Hi. Please forgive me if this is a basic question. I am currently clueless if there is a way to use XOrg instead of Wayland in Slackware 15 64-bit. I need this because I have some closed source applications that I need to run, but they only work satisfactorily in Xorg. Thanks in advance for your help.
If you are in the default Runlevel3, just type startx for an xsession and it will launch whatever WM/DE you selected, if you do startkwayland it will launch just KDE, I don't know if something like XFCE runs under a Wayland session. Also AFAIK / remember, when I was in in runlevel 4, the only Wayland session available anyway is KDE (under sddm)
Actually, I'm not also sure if my Slackware 15 64-bit is running Wayland under default XFCE. When I try to Anydesk to my Slackware 15 installation, it complains that Wayland is not supported. I also get the following output for the following commands:

Same here on my VM running XFCE (startx)
And as ReaperX7 said, XFCE doesn't support Wayland yet (It's planned for XFCE 4.18)
So, maybe you should look on Anydesk side
