How the heck do I install VMware Workstation 4?

When I run one of the questions the installer asks me is: "What is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d/ to
rc6.d/)? /etc/rc.d/" well naturally i thought it meant /etc or /etc/rc.d but I get a "The path "/etc/rc.d" is a directory which does not contain a rc0.d directory." So I ran a search for rc0.d with no results.

You just need to make those directory. It seem that VMWare use it only for a check... Do:
mkdir /etc/rc.d/rc0.d
mkdir /etc/rc.d/rc1.d
mkdir /etc/rc.d/rc2.d
mkdir /etc/rc.d/rc3.d
mkdir /etc/rc.d/rc4.d
mkdir /etc/rc.d/rc5.d
mkdir /etc/rc.d/rc6.d

And, at the VMWare question, enter:

That's it!
