Grub


i was installing grub on my box but before i do that, how do i make a rescue disk or a back-up boot disk to fall back on. i tried using syslinux but for some reason its not working.....
thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm not gonna answer your question. But I wonder why do you want grub instead of lilo. If it's a matter of beuatiness you shuold now that lilo can display bmps (I didn't know about this until few weeks ago).

snop: that was an almost pointless thread. I prefer grub, however.
brokenflea: I think there's a linux howto on putting grub on a floppy disk.
Basically, you partition, install linux, put grub on a floppy, install other systems, and then install grub on the hardrive. the floppy is for when windows writes over the boot thing. Fooled you again, windows!
