Smile Games for Slack


I want to download the game FlightGear from www.flightgear.org BUT I can't find drivers for my Radeon 8500 Slack just says that my video card is generic and I can't take advantage of its POWER Where can I get a radeon 8500 driver There just does not seem to be one out there! Can someone tell me where I can get a driver that "works!" and how to install it. FlightGear is and OpenGL game and my stupid computer has some problems running the OpenGL screensavers! With out the drivers my computer SUX for games I need some help I dont want to download the 50+ MB file unless I know its gunna work ( Im on a 56k here! ) Speaking of my modem where can I get a Slack driver? this is the modem I got http://compusaveinc.safeshopper.com/11/373.htm?465 Well thanks!

video card drivers such as ati and nvidia do not come with slack, they need to much customisation and are incompatile with echother, check out the 2 following sites
www.ati.com - they make there own linux drivers for SOME cards
http://dri.sourceforge.net - They make a 3d accelerator driver for most radeon cards

www.nvidia.com - encase anyone needs nvidia drivers and sees this forum. the nvidia stuff is awesome and available on there site (READ IT"S DIRECTIONS)

I am currently in the process of download "a" radeon driver from sourceforge...I dunno if it will work or what...How am I gunna install it? pkgtool? With that driver I will be able to play that game???

you will need to read the howto for better details but here is a brief
compile it from source
make changes to /etc/X11/XF86config file

here! WOOSH!!! haven't learned that yet! I just found how to install stuff today!!! But not how to run it..hehe...That sounds way COMPLICATED!!! Where is a step by step guide!!! Just tell me how to do it! Im ready to learn
