easy kernel compile question




im trying to recompile my kernel but unsure as to which proc type to choose.

im running slack 9.1
2.4.22 kernel
on a

celeron 1.0 Ghz
256 MB SDRAM pc100
Radeon 9200 se 128MB
WD 40GB 7200rpm IDE HD
using KDE 3.1.5

any help will be appreciated
thx in advance

Things labelled i386 always works.

You, however, can use i686 or something. The corresponding gcc option is -mpentiumIII. In the kernel config tool, it's referred to as Pentium-III/Celeron(Coppermine)/Pentium-III Xeon (MPENTIUMIII)
