"Im trying to install a piece of software right now that requires me to know the location of my kernel. Normally, it would be under /usr/src/linux-xxx, but since I installed my kernel from an RPM it is not there. Does anyone know where a kernel source ends up if you install from an RPM?"
When you installed your kernel from an rpm you installed a binary package. A binary package contains no source so no kernel source was installed. You need to install the kernel source rpm that corresponds to the kernel binary package that you installed.
