Dual Boot Slackware/XP help

Hello,

I have 2 HDD's and on the first one I have XP installed, the 2nd one I reserve for Linux.

When I tried to install Slackware and I got into the part where I was supposed to partition my drive, cfdisk just showed the first HDD where XP was installed and not where I planned to install Slackware.

How can I go to the 2nd HDD so I can install Slackware on it.

Thank you for your time.
Mike

Hi http://, Welcome to lq. Did you specify the drive with cfdisk?
Code:
cfdisk /dev/hdb
good luck. ;-)

cfdisk should show your second hard disk as either sdb ( for a scsi disk ) or hdb ( for an IDE disk).

No problem. If you haven't already done so I recommend you read the slackbook. If you are new to slackware, print it out and stick it in a binder. Even if you move away from slackware most of what is in there will apply to other distros.

Also, I recommend you join the security mailing list so you will be informed of security updates. See section 2.2.2 of the slackbook for this.
