Curl...HTTP disable slapt-get

First, let me say hi to all...

Well, I'm having this little trouble with slapt-get in slackware 10.2

Everytime that I try to use an HTTP source in salpt-get, I recive the message that curl is compile with HTTP disable, so, I can't use any http source

I have a compiled kernel by my self and really don't know if this is the problem, or is a problema with the curl installed

So, if someone can just tell me where to start looking up, will be appreciate

Regards

Just recompile curl ...

wget http://curl.haxx.se/download/curl-7.15.3.tar.gz
tar xzvf ./curl-7.15.3.tar.gz
cd curl*
./configure
make
su -c `make install`

You'll need to enter the root password for the last step. You might like to do "./configure --help" and ensure that --enable-http is added to ./configure when it runs. You might also like to use checkinstall instead of "make install" to make a package and keep your system tidy.

get a precompiled package

You could always try a precompiled package from eg linuxpackages.net, such as http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.ne...0.3-i386-1.tgz

Just download that and then "removepkg curl && installpkg /path/to/curl-7.10.3-i386-1.tgz"

If curl doesn't work then, try running it in a console, eg "konsole" or "xterm", and post the output.

Hi there.....

Well, first, excuse me the time, I had to do some others things on debian so is today that I check the solutions....

Well, compiled, I just can't do it, not because I don't know how to, is my system that had a problem, think that is in the headers....and can't compile anything, working on it

Just downloaded a new precompiled package and installed solved the problem, but is wired 'cause I'd download the problmatic package through swaret...maybe use some wired repository, but anyway, the problem is solved, thanks for your assistance
