Changing the font for aterm

Hello,

I started to play a bit with aterm and noticed that I quite liked the transparency, however i cannot find a way to use a better font with aterm.
With xterm the following gave me a well readable terminal:
xterm -fa bitstream_vera_sans_mono -fs 10

Now how can I use the bitstream font with aterm?
I tried
aterm -tr -bg black -fg yellow -fn bitstream_vera_sans_mono
aterm -tr -bg black -fg yellow -fb bitstream_vera_sans_mono

but it always tells me:
aterm: can't load font "bitstream_vera_sans_mono"

aterm -name aterm-ws2 -tr -trsb -fn -artwiz-fkp-*-*-*-*-16-*-*-
*-*-*-*-* -fg grey

This works for me. Copy/paste this format from xfontsel and it should be fine.

Cheers, Leon.

Thanks a lot! It works great.

Just in case sameone has the same problem:
aterm -tr -bg black -fg white -trsb -fn -bitstream-bitstream vera sans mono-*-r-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
will not work, because bitstream vara sans mono has spaces in it. Use single quotes (') around the font name:
aterm -tr -bg black -fg white -trsb -fn '-bitstream-bitstream vera sans mono-*-r-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*'

Here's my Aterm app-defaults in /etc/X11/app-defaults/Aterm (system wide):

Aterm*foreground: white
Aterm*background: black
Aterm*Font: sabvga
Aterm*cursorColor: yellow
Aterm*scrollBar: true
Aterm*visualBell: true
Aterm*loginShell: False
Aterm*utmpInhibit: True
Aterm*saveLines: 600
Aterm*termName: xterm
Aterm*iconName: Aterm
Aterm*title: Aterm
Aterm*path: /usr/share/pixmaps:/usr/X11/lib/X11/ctwm/images

I use 'xlsfonts' to see all the fonts and their names. Those names, listed in that format, is what aterm wants to use for a font name ( -fn <font name>). "sabvga" is quite nice, but I forgot where I found it.

How you compile Aterm makes a huge difference as well. I think it took me a few shots to get it correct. Just 'make clean' and reconfigure, make again and test until it's to your liking.
