i'd suggest using an app called bbconf which you can get from sourceforge, rpmfind or whereever, it will let you control most aspects of blackbox.

oh you cheated and added number four.. what is a link? you can't have desktop icons and such (that's one of the main reasons behind it)

nyarghhhh.... well you can use things like rox or fbdesk, but that really kinda defies the whole point of *box desktops. Hey let's make a super fast and streamlined desktop manager and then cover it with junk!! hmm... but those apps do exist if you really want them. Just remember why you're using something as small as blackbox over somethign as bloated as gnome or kde...

I believe he already suggested bbconf. You can also try searching.

Google is your friend... Remember that...

what do you mean when you say "changing keyboard layout?" do you have some sort of weird keyboard settup or something? Or do you mean you want to bind certain keystrokes to certain programes?

Ahh ok...now I understand.

Unfortunately I don't know how that would be changed in slack...(in mandrake, the Mandrake Control Center does that...)

I'm not even sure if its done at the wm level...anyone?

Piece of cake mate ...

exit X and your session manager (gdm, kdm, xdm)...

start xf86cfg

you'll find your way around from there (I hope ;})

Or, do it manually ...

edit, /etc/X11/XF86Config
find Option "XkbLayout" "xx" #xx is a variable here ;)
and make that Option "XkbLayout" "no"

Cheers,
Tink
