Anybody tried getting libglide3 for tdfx voodoo 3 cards working in slack 11
Hi all,
Anybody tried getting libglide3 for tdfx voodoo 3 cards working in slack 11?
Apparently the tdfx module does not yield dri without this libglide3, but to date I can only locate how-to's for xfree86 install's, no xorg.
Well I should say, the Xorg.log shows dri is enabled, but the 'glxinfo |grep render' says no, which lead me down the path to the assumption that I need this libglide3.
Card is a voodoo 3 3000 agp on an old dell xps that I came across. It has an intel motherboard.
I am running it at 1024x768 16bit color which is the best the card (which is an agp card) can do and achieve direct rendering according the windows readme of dell's site.
I have an old AGP Voodoo Banshee on my PII test box, running Slack11 and the tdfx driver. Everything runs fine on the box. I get about 698 fps with glxgears. Nothing extraordinary, but better than nothing.
Download the old 3dfx-glide package from Slack 10.2:
I just booted this pc up on a knoppix v 5 cd, apt-get the libglide3 and got DRI 900 fps on a live cd rofl...so now I know it can be DONE!
Thanks woodsman I'm gonna go give it a shot now. Tho I wonder if I will need to maybe rebuild the package as I intend to use slack 11 on it. heh...i accidently deleted all my slack 10.2 packages and such...I'm my own worst virus you know.
