Any updates on progress of Slackware current??

Title is pretty self-explanatory.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea about how Pat is doing with the major toolchain updates for Slackware 11.

Can't wait to see what is in store for Slackware in '07!

Merry Christmas everyone,
Gary

Merry Christmas, Gary!
I'm not sure about the status of the toolchain updates, but, Pat has made a lot of updates to the Slackware stable changelog. Things are looking good for Slack in 07:-)

I think we need a 'The Ultimate "When Is Slackware -Current Going to Start Updating?" Megathread' thread

Fight as you may it will come like the sun rises every morning. I thought of this as soon as I saw this thread pop up.

I think someone should find out from Pat what the next version number should be and when the -current tree finally updates for the first time a "The UltraMegaSuperRidiculous 'When will Slackware $version arrive' Megathread" should be instantly created. Not doing so is just delaying the inevitable. We're already seeing it with this thread. This way all the discussion about "-current" issues can be centralized. Sorry, XavierP...

I think a 2.4/4.1.1/2.17 combo works fairly well and is "up-to-date". Still some patching to be done but it's minor.

I wouldn't be suprised if Pat goes with 2.3.6/4.0.3/2.16.1 for the next Slackware release.

I am considering making the next megathread into what i like to call an idiot trap. It will be entitled "The Newest Ever Post Here To Get Banned Megathread. No, Seriously" and I will wait to see who I can catch.
