ALT+ Combinations

I don't know why I can use ALT+ combinations. I am using KDE but nothing happens when I press ALT+F2 or F4. Why? Should I modify something?

I believe you can use kcontrol to change your hotkey combinations. Go to Regional & Accessibility > Keyboard Shortcuts and you can set them up there..

If you are trying to switch between the desktop and a console, try adding control to it. control+alt+f2(or f4 or whatever).
