I upgraded to KDE 4.6.5 using packages available AlienBob's repo. Now I want to upgrade to 4.8.4. Well there are no packages available so looks like I've to build them myself from source.
I can't seem to find any README file there, so I need to ask how can I go about installing 4.8.4. There are two Slackbuild scripts available there (KDE.SlacBuild & my.SlackBuild). I'm not 100% which one to run, if at all, or do I need to meet any dependencies before this. I read somewhere that I need to install mesa-7.10.2 from the /testing directory which I've installed.

Any ideas?
I don't think that you can compile directly KDE 4.8.4 on Slackware 13.37, without installing at least KDE 4.8.1 which had a 'deps' directory with many updated packages (qt, phonon, soprano, akonadi, ...). I have installed (from source, using Alien Bob's SlackBuilds) KDE 4.8.1, then upgraded to 4.8.2, 4.8.3 and finally to 4.8.4. In the course I had also to update some packages of the base system because the SlackBuilds were for -current.
@fgcl2k Hmm, thanks for your comments. I should have installed when it was released by Eric to keep up with the updates rather than taking all the successive steps now.
@kikinovak So I guess it's better to just download the Slackware 14 RC5 dvd, less of a hassle that way.
I'm gonna stay with my 4.6.5 for now, plus it won't be too long before we have Slackware 14 out.
