alienbob's Chromium 64 does not update to 65

I'm on 14.2.

I've been trying to install the latest Chromium package from Eric Hameleers' website

I've tried both with upgradepkg and then by simply removing the old package and installing the new one with removepkg+installpkg, but upon starting up the browser the 'About Chromium' tab still shows

Version 64.0.3282.119 (Developer Build) (64-bit)

Probably you forgot to close all chromium processes. When you close the browser, a background service can still be running, which will keep the core Chromium libraries in memory, which causes the reported version number to disagree with the upgraded files on disk.

Thank you very much, both for replying so quickly and for the solution. That's exactly what it was: I'd inattentively left a Chromium process running. After closing everything out and trying again it's now reporting the new version number.

And thanks also for the continual hard work!

Good! Now please mark this post as "SOLVED" so that people don't keep opening this topic to see if they can help (or so they can open the thread to find your documented solution).
That option is available under the "Thread Tools" menu.
