Question WLANUIG.inf and .sys ... does anyone know where i can get these files?

Hello, i am currently trying to use ndiswrapper to install my Zoom 4410 Wireless-G usb card, it is listed as working, and want to get it working on my system, but the drivers are wlanuig.sys and and the corresponding .inf file(s?), which i can't seem to get a hold of, i have even installed my windows drivers and searched, but i get some other drivers, that don't work, since the one i mentioned above is listed as working with my product, i want to get a hold of it, does anyone know where i can get the files i need? Thanks,

Wireless manufacturers change chipsets regularly, without changing the model. If your card came with different drivers, odds are the chipset is not the same. Attempting to use a driver for another chipset will not work.

That said, check your Zoom installation disks for the required files.

Check if your particular device is listed in the ndiswrapper wiki. http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List

They may have a link to download a recommended windows driver. Make sure you download a driver for the correct architecture. If you are running a 64 bit distro, you need a 64 bit windows driver.

Hello, this is my return from "lsusb"
Quote:
Bus 006 Device 002: ID 083a:c501 Accton Technology Corp.
(only the card in question), and in the NdisWrapper it is listed like this.
Quote:
Card: Zoom Wireless-G 4410

* Chipset: Accton Technology Corp.
* usbid: 083a:c501
* Driver: wlanuig.inf driver available on CD or from [the website]
so... it appears it will work, my problem is getting the .inf and .sys files that are recommended, that is when i install the windows drivers on windows i get a different driver than the one mentioned, and it does not seem to work with ndiswrapper. So, in conclusion how do i get the drivers?

In the above information, "the website" is a link that takes you to the manufacturers page, where you can download drivers for the card.

They apparently changed drivers (based on the serial number) so you may not be able to use the one recommended by the ndiswrapper project. There is no requirement for them to change the PCI ID, just as there's no requirement for them to change the model number.

Why the new thread?

Did you search on the Windows box for those files?
start -> search, etc.?

sorry,... new thread b/c my problem is finding the drivers, after installing the windows drivers on windows, i found that the driver was a different one than the one on the list, so i don't know how to or where to find the driver i need . Yes, i searched on the windows box, and i got a different driver, ZMWGUSB.sys and a .inf containing that filename. And i the driver that i have found does not work with ndiswrapper,(unless i have to do more than ndiswrapper -i xxx.inf to install) so i need to find the one that is listed as working, that is what the new thread is for . Thanks for the help (you've helped me alot) , sorry if i annoyed u...

--, i downloaded the driver for my device (windows driver) off of the link on the list, it contains the same .inf / .sys files that i got from the cd i have,...after i install the .exe, from what i understand from the ndiswrapper install instructions, i should look for a device with the same pci id (in my case usbid) and install those drivers, but i can't seem to find those drivers...here is the question, where or how do i get the drivers/files listed as working? (seeing as the one listed seems to have the same chipset) is there somewhere i can simply download the files without having to install on windows and search for files(exctract from exe)?.. if not then what can i do to get the drivers that are supposed to work?

Hi everyone, I think i may be confusing, here's my questions... How can i get the WLANUIG.sys and it's corresponding .inf file?, the device on the ndiswrapper list, had the same USBID and it appears to have the same chipset, so wouldn't the drivers the list mentions work?, the problem is i don't know how or wehre to get this drivers, when i download them off the link that is in the ndiswrapper list next to my device i install that .exe on my windows and i find that it installs a ZMWGUSB.sys and not a wlanuig.sys file? so... where or how can i get these files? - is there a website or anything that has this stuff on it?
