rpm uninstalled by mistake

One of my frind have uninstalled the package rpm itself by mistake by giving the "rpm -e rpm --nodeps" in the RHEL AS 3.0 (Update 6) on a remote server.


Is there any way to fix this ?

you would need to download the tar.gz files and compile it again, cause I guess yum wouldnt help you.
trying going to rpm.org and search...for .tar.gz

I searched for the rpm's tar.gz in the rpm.org but could not find the one that is needed.

I am not sure about the mercurial repositories, that is mentioned there.

Please advise.
