RHEL 7 - Install mysql & phpmyadmin

Hi Guys,

I am new in this forum and I hope some of you can help me here. I used to work with ubuntu quit a bit but I am totally new to RedHat.

Now I am trying to setup mysql and phpmyadmin on my VMs but I am facing always a dependency problem.

Here is the error output of "yum install mysql-server". I googled quite a while but I coulnd't find anything what worked to solve the problem. Maybe someone here can help me.

Thanks a lot.

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

I found this on https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...ql-on-centos-7
Code:
Centos 7 comes with MariaDB instead of MySQL. MariaDb is a open source equivalent to MySQL and can be installed with yum -y install mariadb-server mariadb. If you must have mysql you need to add the mysql-community repo sudo rpm -Uvh http://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql-community-release-el7-5.noarch.rpm and then you can install MySQLl like you normally do.

you also added the rhel6 repo to rhel7
you can NOT mix them
rhel7 is very different than rhel6

RHEL 7 : Uses "mariadb" , a fork of mysql.
→ →
# yum install mariadb-server

If you have added the "mysql repo for RHEL7" from "dev.mysql.com" :
? Do not expect it to work.

How to uninstall MariaDB and install MySQL in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7?: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1211833

Log in and the answer can be yours.

Hint: You must have PREMIUM entitlements, and add the RHSCL repo in order to do this.
