Video Capture with Pinnacle DC10+ Card

I am trying to capture video from an analog Sony camcorder using Linux Video Studio, the front end to the mjpegtools, through a Pinnacle/Miro DC10+ PCI capture board, for which I compiled the necessary Zoran zr36067 modules specifically.

I capture video, but...

My PC has crashes soon after (it stops responding altogether) following 'use' of the video device.

This has occurred consistently 3 times. I recall that the last time it was when I was browsing for a new output file, whilst the video was still in the preview window.

I also notice that there is no audio in my captured file, and there was a very slight issue of 'non-interlacing' (stripiness) in my test. I am concerned that if the video was more fast paced it would be a worse issue.

Please help if possible.

First thing is to look in your logs, especially /var/log/messages. Look for messages near the time crashes occured. If unsure what they mean, post them.

It seems that the driver has problems talking to the device. Which version of the driver do you have?
