Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Pinnacle systems/miro dc10(+) (zoran chipset) video out capability?

I've got a PCI VIVO card here that is the newer version of the miro dc10, I believe the + version? Anyway, it has the zoran chipset and has video in and video out for both composite and s-video.

Is there any way I can use the composite out to display the screen on say, a TV? Preferrably both the console and xwindows screen, but just the xwindows screen would be just fine.

I believe I saw that you can playback movie files to the tv, but I couldn't seem to find anything about displaying the screen itself, and not a movie file.

Anyone know if this is possible?

DC10+ and Linux

Hi,

I have a real Pinnacle DC10+ and it works fine as a capture card in Knoppix and XawTV.
But I never used the output. If you want to display what happen on your PC to your TV screen, you'd rather use the composite or S-video secondary output of your main video card (the one that is plugged on your PC screen). I hope you have this output. But the DC10+ output is designed to record an edited file to a VCR. To enable it, it is better to use the Pinnacle software Studio with... Windows

Regards.

Hi! I already answered to this question but I would say again... IT'S NOT mandatory using Windows to enable Pinnacle DC10+ TV output: it is enough, in a terminal (e.g. xterm) type "mplayer -vo zr [video-file to display]" and you get the movie on TV !! (Obviously, you must have the zoran driver "modprobed" in your kernel). I do this _every days_ to watch on my TV movies, videos, dvds -... oops!! ehr...-
Ciao to everybody!
