I am trying to install my Belkin F5D7050 USB wireless device on a FC4 2.6.14-1 kernel using ndiswrapper. So, i've followed the steps in the wiki, compiled ndiswrapper as root ( had to download the kernel-devel package through yum and supply KSRC arg to make ). Extracted RT2500 usb drivers from the cd and attempted install.
However no hardware present. Any ideas? Also, i dont seem to have the lsusb command, however i guess this is equivalent to reading /proc/bus/usb/devices? The Belkin USB device is in the devices file just mentioned.
the serial monkey proj was picked up on my radar whilst troubleshooting my ndiswrapper prob, however after seeing posts of ppl actually getting my device + ndiswrapper working, i refused to give up - 24hrs later i think i have!
I will try the serial monkey proj, and post back with my results...
I have a Belkin F5D7050 USB working with ndiswrapper 1.7 under Suse10.0. I find it actually works better than the native rt2570 linux driver. Except I'm not using the Belkin Windows driver from the CD (flaky, even under Windoze). I downloaded the rt2500usb driver from the Ralink support site:
used the rt2570usb driver developed for linux and eventually got it working. Seems to be a little flaky however is working, i havent had time to explore any further with ndiswrapper however have read about the lack of support for wireless by redhat and fedora so may be switching to another distro v.shortly! Cheers for your help ppl, much appreciated...
