Proble installing RHEL 4 on system with ASUS K8V-VM Ultra chipset motherboard

Hi,

I assembled a system with following configuration,

AMD Sempron +2800 CPU
ASUS motherboard with K8V-VM Ultra chipset+ Nvidia GForce 7300GS GPU
512 MB RAM
SATA HDD

My problem is Windows XP installs and works fine on this system. But when I tried installling 64 Bit RHEL 4 on it after starting after the language and key board setup screens a message is displayed that " No harddrive is found on Your system" and installation aborts when clicking OK. This happens with every linux distro I tried. Motherboard chipset may be the culprit or may be the SATA HDD. Did anyone had a similar experience. If so what is the solution ???!!!

P.S.Sabu
