Probing for monitor type: unknown monitor

Hi,

I am trying to install Redhat ES V3 on an old Compaq/HP Proliant 1600 and getting the following error messaged when Anaconda starts up.

Probing for Video Card: Cirrus Logic GD544x
Probing for monitor type: Unknown Monitor

Then the computer completely hangs!!

In the BIOS the video card comes up as a Cirrus Logic CL5446 I am not sure if this is the reason the install is failing?

Any ideas folks??

G

its not the monitor thats causing this. have you got a web cam or something plugged into the usb socket? anything like that remove it. all you want is mouse, keyboard and monitor. Failing that, try installing using "text mode".
