Probing for monitor type: Unknown Monitor

I get this error when installing RH 3 or 4

Probing for monitor type: Unknown Monitor

I set the switch as follows on the installation:

linux apm=off skipddc nousb

After I have RH installed I can't get an X Server session to ever start.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

do you know the horizontal and vertical refresh rates on your monitor?

if not look in the owners manual or find out from the manufacturer's website maybe they have the specs on file that you can access or download...

you may have to run xorgconfig from runlevel 3 (CLI) or edit /etc/xorg.config and enter the specs for your monitor manually
