moving fedora core2 system to RH enterprise3 build4

Hi Everyone

(I had posted this yesterday to the distributions forum-
I have a RH FC2 system that I would like changed (not really an upgrade) to RH Enterprise3 Build4. Of course I would like to preserve my existing user, application and o/s filesystems (I have hundreds of accounts on the server) .
Can this be accomplished by doing the following :

1 - shutting down the fc2 server
2 - booting the Build4 CD on the fc2 server
3 - choosing the graphical upgrade option
4 - choosing not to format existing filesystems and proceeding with the install.

I realize this is actually a "downgrade" , however we have compatability issues with fc2 and I really do not want to perform a complete o/s install.
If anyone has "moved" a fedora system to enterprise 3 or has any ideas please help !

tia

You might want to consider CentOS. That way you can get RHEL 4, without support. Or, if you have support from Red Hat through Red Hat Network, then consider upgrading to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, since it should be available to you through Red Hat Network. It would probably work better than downgrading to RHEL3.

Edit : In case you don't know, CentOS is RHEL minus Red Hat's trademarks.

Upgrading FC2 to RHEL3 is an untested and unsupported upgrade path.
