How do you mount usb devices on RH9

I have been unable to find my usb on RH 9.0.

I have plugged in a usb cardreader and the power light does not come on.

When I had Mandrake 9.2 on the same machine it detected the usb as a scsi and I
found it on the right click under hardrives as a scsi?

Anyone, help with this please.

first go to your terminal and do a dmesg to see what devices are on which port if it if e.g. /dev/sga then go to your terminal su and then do mount /dev/sga/ /mnt/yourfolder or whereever it should be mounted

I looked in mnt and it has no directories in it. I made a directory there called dazzle

Is that OKso far?

It asks for a filesystem type. when I do /dev/sdb1/ /mnt/dazzle

what is the full command line and type for a photo flash card?
