Help Installing RHEL 6.0 on Virtual Box

Create machine and it tries to boot then all I get is :-

ISOLINUX 3.86 2010-04-01 ETC.......

And nothing else. Any ideas?

Does it even work under Virtual Box?

BTW - Its rhel-server-6.0-i386-dvd.iso - Downloaded as eval from Red Hat

Hello,

Yes it works (at least the 64bit version does). Did you do a checksum to verify the image?

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

And still failing to install? I assume you're trying to install directly from the ISO, right?

Kind regards,

Eric

No I burnt it to DVD. Create a new machine in Virtual Box and let it boot from the DVD.

Hello,

Try connecting the virtual machine to the ISO image instead and boot from that. See where that takes you. You might have problems/issues with VirtualBox that are hardware related. What version of VirtualBox are you using? I personally never burn images on DVD/CD when they are to be used with VirtualBox/Qemu/VMWare.

Kind regards,

Eric

OK. Downloaded the ISO again and installing directly from that and now I'm getting something different...

Displays :-

Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok

and then hangs.

Hello,

Might be a BIOS problem as pointed out by this site. I'm not having any problem installing from ISO on VirtualBox on my computer. Can you check what BIOS and version you are running?

Kind regards,

Eric

Hello, I have got the same error as Paulfoel. It looks like there could be a compatibility issue with RHEL 6 32 bit and Virtual box 4.0.2 and I have even tried on vmware server, but installation kept crashing. Please let us know if anybody has found the solution.
