Hello have a problem with my Redhat server, he can not update it!


Hi

have the following problem!
When I run the updates on Redhat server I get the following error message.
Error when trying to resolve the package dependencies of the updates!

Missing Dependency: liboppler-glib.so.1 is needed by package evince
Missing Dependency: /bin/cpio is needed by package redhat-lsb
Missing Dependency: ntp is needed by package system-config-date

Who can help me?

Hye

if this are all messages, it seems that some packages should be deinstalled which depends on others, so deinstallation is not allowed.

Could you please post the complete output.

Please have a look in /etc/yum.conf

If you have a line with
exclude=something*

then some packages cannot not be installed by an update.
And the message may be : files / package missing.
.....

Or you have an odd repo. ( etc/yum/repos.d/.....)
Have you got a Redhat subscribtion / Redhat support ?
.....

Also please do : # 'yum clean cache'
... things happen to go wrong in the cache too ..
.....
