Three users are set up on the home RH9 machine, and two of them are missing their default Gnome panels.
I can log in and out to see my default RedHat panel, but the other two users see only a blank panel. They can add and remove items from it, so Im fairly certain its not a permissions issue, but why would it stop displaying all of a sudden?
All of this was immediately following an 'apt-get upgrade' operation that completed successfully. Before that command, each user had a fully-populated panel on their desktop.
Sorry there's not more detail here, but Im not sure where to begin looking. Any ideas?
Was the 'apt-get upgrade' for Gnome? If they had panels before the upgrade and not afterwards, the upgrade is the problem. Remove it and put the original program back. That should fix things for you
