O.K, I finally had a chance to figure out the wireless......(it wasn't that hard...just a different utility tool than I'm used to) I installed the 214x and its a very nice cool and fun little distro.....Only a couple little quirks but I'll post a new thread on that.
Its nice to be using this old laptop in a constructive way.

Otherwise, thanks to all on here for the great help!

Glad you got it working. The only versions of Puppy I have used is 4.2.1 and a Puplet called Growler (not sure what version it based on). I have never found a computer that 4.2.1 will not work on. I have found some hardware that isn't directly supported, but the hard drive has been every time. I have found the it sees the ext4 format but will not mount it. FAT, NTFS, ext2, and ext3 are found and it will mount read and write to them. I have never actually installed Puppy to a hard drive, because it works so well as a live CD.
BTW Growler has a bunch of added stuff, but it takes more RAM. It will not boot on my PIII with 288megs, but will boot on my Pentium M with 512megs. 4.2.1 I know will boot with 128megs and probably less.
