urgent porting problem

hello,
i want to port a matlab code to linux,....
a few questions...
1>i need a gui for the code in linux,which is the easiest to learn...say a day or two?mono?
this ll take bout 2/3 screens max.
2>you can make dll's in matlab and make the application standalone,can something like that
be done with scilab?
3>or should i convert the matlab code to c++(i can,but its a lotta code,yawn!) and then port it to linux....how easy is glibc to learn?

i've just been reading over a tutorial on GTK+ and it seems straight forward. don't know if that could help with your app.
